3g Booster, An Answer to a Prayer
When you live in an outlying area like I do, 3g reception can be a real problem. If you take a look at the coverage maps that providers post on their websites, you’ll see what I mean. Once you look at that, you’ll know where to start. In my case, I’m right on the border. I get 3g, but it’s not consistent or stable. It fades in and out, and a cloudy or rainy day makes it worse. We’ve lived here for over 20 years, and we’ve always had a problem with reception. 3g boosters can help with that by amplifying and stabilizing the signal. We can’t use a dish here because of where we’re located and all the trees, so we get our data connection from our cell phone hot spot.
A 3g booster/amplifier is a very innovative piece of equipment with an antenna that will not only boost your 3g data reception but also improve your cell phone reception.
The first thing you will need to do is some research on the subject. Get online with your cell phone providers website and access their coverage map. Knowing how strong your signal is will help you in deciding which equipment you need. Next thing is where it will be installed. If it will be in your house, how big is your house? If relatively small you won’t need a bigger unit. Next is to try and find out where the closest cell tower is.
It doesn’t matter who it belongs to as most companies have partnership agreements to use towers belonging to other companies when they have no tower in the area. In our case, the closest tower is about 6 miles away and we have the additional problem of living on the side of a ridge, which also interferes with the signal. After you do that it’s just a question of deciding which equipment you want and how much you want to pay. A 3g booster isn’t cheap but they’re not terribly expensive either. Usually in the $60.00 and up range.
Your best bet is to read the reviews for the 3g booster you’re interested in. Also read the specifications. Yeah, I don’t know what they mean either. However, my son is a beta tester and he can explain it to me and give me some help with choices. If you know of anyone with some technological experience they can probably help or the website will have a contact button…
I don’t know about you, but a 3g booster is definitely on my wish list and the answer to a prayer!
